FRG turns efforts to laser development

Recommendations, and development of laser applications is discussed. In terms of its technical and economic significance this key technology is compared with microelectronics. Lasers are light sources which emit highly focused, intense rays with virtually infinite potential applications. Lasers (Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation) are used especially in measurement technology and medical technology and in optical communications engineering. As wearfree universal machines tools, they assume great significance in production. The light has also become a weapon called Star Wars.
