Improved numerical implementation of the bounding surface plasticity model for cohesive soils
Abstract
A substantially more robust numerical algorithm for the evaluation of the bounding surface plasticity model for cohesive soils is developed. The robustness of the new algorithm assures accurate results for reasonably sized solution steps and qualitatively correct predictions, even for exceptionally large steps. The improved predictions are illustrated for three examples.
