Flow field calculations in the meridional steam surface of a centrifugal compressor using non-iterative streamline curvature method
Abstract
This work presents a streamline curvature method, which can be used in the design of centrifugal turbomachines. It involves the determination of the flow field velocity distribution in the meridional surface and over the hub and tip. The design problem, is concerned with the determination of the tip contour and its velocity distribution for a selected inlet and exit geometry. The solution of the continuity and momentum equations with these as initial conditions permits the simultaneous determination of the streamline coordinates and the flow variables. The hub contour evolves automatically in the solution.
