Preliminary evaluation of results from radio wave propagation measurements on space and terrestrial transmission paths in the frequency range between 10 and 20 GHz
Abstract
The results of satellite measurements of radio wave propagation in the frequency band 10-20 GHz are presented. The measurements may be applied to the analysis of various meteorological phenomena, including: the vertical structure of rain cells; raindrop size and shape; and temperature gradients. The cumulative distribution of radio signal attenuation between the satellite and its receiving station at Dubna, USSR, is plotted in a graph.
