The advancement of satellite distribution systems of TV broadcasting, sound broadcasting and newspaper page facsimile transmission in the USSR
Abstract
At present satellite TV broadcasting in the USSR is carried out via three systems - ORBITA, EKRAN and MOSKVA. Currently 90 ORBITA stations and more than 4000 receivers of the MOSKVA and EKRAN systems are being operated in the USSR. The number of receivers are supposed to total 10,000 to 1990. These systems, simultaneously with TV, transmit broadcasting signals, and the ORBITA and MOSKVA systems also provide newspaper page facsimile transmission. This report contains a detailed description of basic parameters of satellite broadcasting systems and the function of each system to provide multitime zone broadcasting in the USSR.
