Airborne electronic multispectral scanning camera
Abstract
Technical features of a CCD-based airborne remote sensing instrument are detailed, along with the numerical models used to calibrate, interpret and correct the data collected. The CCD array has 1728 elements receiving light beams that have been separated using a prism, dichroic blades and spectral separation on the object plane. Block and flow diagrams are provided for a single channel and the control module, together with cut-aways of the mechanisms installed to prevent spectral drift and ensure spatial uniformity. A diode with a standardized spectrum serves as the reference source for on-board calibration. Geometric models have been devised for correcting for attitude, roll and pitch effects.
