Micro-moire - A high sensitivity moire technique for determining displacement fields by using phase gratings as amplitude gratings

A high-sensitivity moire technique has been developed to determine displacement fields in elastic and elastoplastic problems. High frequency phase gratings (over 5000 lines/in) of the type used for moire interferometry were photographed in a microscope to produce amplitude gratings which were interrogated and analyzed using classical moire techniques.
