History of the RSRE
Abstract
The history of the United Kingdom Royal Signal and Radar Establishment is summarized. Its development of radar was an indirect result of investigations of so-called death rays in the 1930s. Other contributions include work on solid state detectors, infrared imagery, and the discovery of molecular gas lasers.
