Model that predicts pulse charged gas switching breakdown phenomena
Abstract
Pulsed power switching data is used to develop a new model of gas switching. The extended model explains such diverse phenomena as prefire probabilities, breakdown voltages, triggered switching delays, triggered breakdown mechanisms, and effects of electrode surface finish on gap breakdown in pulse-charged switches.
