Holographic methods of plasma diagnostics
Abstract
The plasma diagnostics applications of holographic techniques are discussed. Consideration is given to: reconstruction of a wave distorted by a pulsed plasma in stationary conditions; interference studies of the plasma contained in a vessel with optically imperfect windows; simultaneous or consecutive holographic recording of the interference pattern of a plasma; and measurement of the spatial distribution of the parameters of a three-dimensional object by reconstructing a single hologram of the light waves passing through a plasma in different directions. Techniques for enhancing the sensitivity of holographic interferometry are considered, including multipass methods; infrared holographic interferometry; and dispersion holographic methods. The results of a double-wavelength holographic interferometric study of plasma jets and shock wave plasma are presented in the form of black and white photographs.
