A review of holography applications in multiphase flow visualization study
Abstract
An evaluation is made of the development status and effectiveness of applications of holographic techniques to multiphase flow studies, emphasizing gas-solid and gas-liquid two-phase flows such as those encountered in particle sizing studies of particulate flows and nuclei population measurements in cavitation studies. The usefulness of holography as a means for the visualization of the dynamic phenomena inherent in multiphase flows has been demonstrated by studies of coal combustion processes in gas-solid flows, gas-liquid two-phase critical flow measurements, and flashing flows in a nozzle.
