Primary measurement
Abstract
The economical aspects of accurate gas measurement with orifice plates and turbine gas counters are reviewed. The economical application of test benches and facilities for analysis and calibration of the counters is discussed. Vortex and supersonic counters are investigated for long-time stability and repeatability as well as the effects of the installation methods. Cost-to-accuracy analysis of the measuring instruments and the flow computers for automatic temperature and pressure correction and for calculation of the gas compressibility is reported. The introduction of computer monitoring of the entire pipe system and of an information system is presented.
