A study of heat transfer from a horizontal vibrating cylinder by means of holographic interferometry
Abstract
The paper deals with the holographic visualization and evaluation of temperature fields and heat transfer in the bottom part of a heated horizontal vibrating cylinder under free convection in air. The temperature fields and local parameters of the heat transfer from the cylinder are investigated for harmonic vertical vibrations with frequencies from 1.8 to 5.7 Hz and amplitudes from 0.6 to 2.6 mm. From the time courses of the local heat-transfer parameters during one period, the mean local parameters of heat transfer with respect to time are evaluated and compared with the local parameters of the heat transfer from a horizontal cylinder without vibrations.
