A computational model of turbulence
Abstract
The algebraic model of Reynolds stress and the rateofdissipation equation are studied. The algebraic model is nonisotropic. It is better than the other two proposed by Saffman (1974) and Warsi (1977) when compared for the data of the shear turbulence. A new equation for rateofdissipation is proposed. It contains only one parameter. Adding to the Reynolds equations this new algebraic equation and the other two, i.e., the turbulent energy equation and the rateofdissipation equation, a computational model of turbulence is obtained.
