Measurements in two-phase flows
Abstract
Laser transit velocimetry (LTC) measurements of turbomachine flows are introduced. Droplet size and wetness measurements are described. With the backscattering LTV, no seeding is required to study two phase flows. It is less sensitive than laser doppler anemometers to dirty windows, although dirt reduces signal quality for measurements within 3 mm of the window. For flows with high angular turbulence levels the laser doppler velocimeter must be used.
