Results of field and laboratory studies of jam-resistant and voice-private radios
Abstract
Radio communications systems that use voice privacy or voice scrambling exhibit varying degrees of security range reduction, message intelligibility, and susceptibilities to a jamming assault. Studies included the evaluation of Data Encryption Standard (DES) and Frequency Hopping (FH) systems. Results include voice intelligibility, jamming survivability, and range reduction percentages.
