Distributed processing in RF and microwave measurement systems
Abstract
As more performance is required of automatic RF and microwave test systems, the need to distribute computational capability throughout the systems increases. This paper discusses the various levels of distributed processing power in modern RF and microwave spectrum analyzers as applied to automatic tests: built-in functions, downloadable procedures and programs, control of other test equipment, and modular measurement architecture.
