Modeling and simulation of scattering from continuous surfaces
Abstract
A method of simulating radar scattering from extended surfaces is described that uses a combination of hardware and computer operations. A theory of 'sliding patches' is developed that allows wideband radar operations to be realized as baseband hardware and shows how the surface can be simulated by computer. Full Doppler effects of the surface are maintained in this model, which is illustrated in block diagram form.
