Digital VLSI systems
Abstract
An up-to-date survey of the field of VLSI digital system design and analysis is presented. Design automation is considered, including: high-level languages; silicon compilaton; circuit layout; symbolic layout; layout verification; layout languages, placement, and routing; data structures, and CAD systems. Simulation is addressed, including mixed-mode simulation and performance evaluation and optimization. Testability and fault-tolerant design is discussed, and design examples from information and signal processing are considered.
