Data reduction of the output from high-response pressure transducers with different screens using a high speed A/D converter
Abstract
In the study of axial and radial turbomachines, different laser systems are employed to measure local velocity vectors. However, in order to account for Mach numbers and losses, measurements of an additional fluid property are needed. The present paper provides a description of studies involving the use of high-frequency-response pressure transducers. The employed test facility is discussed along with the tests, the high-response static pressure probes, the data reduction procedures, checks regarding the reliability of hardware and software, and the results obtained with different probes. It is concluded that the data provided by the high-frequency-response pressure transducers are acquired and reduced satisfactorily. Results provided by transducers with and without protective screen are compared.
