Investigation of turbulent spatial-periodical structures by small-scale modeling
Abstract
The development in time of a spatial-periodic vortex structure and a turbulent flow caused by the presence of a mass force, periodic with respect to the spatial coordinate, are studied using a model. The model is based on the assumption that large-scale turbulent structures can be described by Navier-Stokes equations averaged for a small scale with respect to spatial variables. Averaged quadratic moments are related to local gradients of the mean flow through the viscosity coefficient.
