A smart earth sensor
Abstract
The design approach of the present spacecraft control sensor, which has been specifically modified to facilitate the detection of internal failures, has been incorporated in an energy balance-type earth sensor. Attention is given to simulation test results for this device, which shows promise in such roles as the support of control system redundancy management tasks aimed at the realization of spacecraft autonomy. Attention is given to the self-test features incorporated by the sensor.
