Electrostatic analyzers of the energy spectra of low-energy charged particles
Abstract
A description is given of a method for calculating the characteristics of various types of electrostatic analyzers used to study corpuscular emission in the earth's upper atmosphere. Particular attention is given to analyzers of cylindrical-mirror and logarithmic types. For a cylindrical analyzer with a slit collimator, the optimal position of the screening grid in front of the analyzer input is found in the case of which the effect of the radial component of the edge field of the analyzer plate becomes negligible.
