Basilica di San Francisco: An example for simultaneous field calibration of several camera systems
Abstract
Photographs of a church taken with various lenses were used to study bundle adjustment with simultaneous field calibration of camera systems. Simultaneous field calibration allows the introduction of internal orientation parameters in adjustment procedures. Point coordinate deviation from adjustment with simultaneous calibration of a 350mm lens is 1.5 cm. Simultaneous calibration can be applied to avoid inaccuracy in image point coordinates. The interactions between image and object space geometry and target coordinate accuracy are studied. An economical and practical photogrammetric procedure based on simultaneous calibration and application of the partial measuring camera principles can be developed.
