Operational test field calibrations at the Institute of Photogrammetry and Surveying, Hanover
Abstract
Cameras for medium and small size image formats were studied for accuracy of test field calibration with respect to camera internal orientation (camera constant, coordinates of the image main point and radial-symmetrical distortion parameters). The calibration images are assessed on a Planicomp C-100 with an HP computer. The program concentrates on automatic rough positioning of the points to be measured so that the operator can concentrate on point research, selection or identification. Image points are transformed with a correction function. The calibration values are calculated through bundle adjustment with the multi-image orientation adjustment program MOR. Good accuracy is obtained.
