Practical system calibration in the field
Abstract
Field calibration of camera systems for aerial image measurements based on a refined functional and/or stochastic model of photogrammetry to check possible and economical application of full or partial calibration according to the ground conditions is introduced. The camera is secured in a fixed position on an aircraft. Simulation calculations give satisfactory calibration results in flight for a wide-angle camera. Systems can be fully and economically calibrated in adequate field configuration. Introduction of weighted laboratory calibration values can improve the result and the numerical resolution of equation systems. In high mountains, conditions for full calibration are more favorable. Ideal perequisites for automatic calibration are given.
