Criteria for separation in two-dimensional steady and unsteady compressible flow
Abstract
Separation criteria for two-dimensional flows were deduced. The most important technical flow separation phenomena are reviewed, and the governing physical influence parameters are outlined. The starting points were the theory of viscous flow and Prandtl's boundary layer concept. The most important existing flow separation criteria are discussed. From a study of the streamline behavior near a separation point, generalized criteria for separation in two-dimensional steady and unsteady compressible flow are derived. It is shown that the existing criteria are special cases of the generalized criteria.
