Improved power systems for airborne computers
Abstract
The use of standardization and distributed power processing (DPP) to improve power systems for airborne computers is described. A system of Standard Topology and And Components (STAC) has been developed which will allow most of the benefits of standardization to be achieved. In addition, attention is given to the use of DPP to solve the problem of distributing low-voltage high-current power to the system. The DPP solution lies not in distributing the low-voltage high-current form of power and converting it locally to the usable form.
