A simple power meter for high energy pulsed lasers
Abstract
A temperature resistance wire is wound about a frame and exposed to the laser beam which causes the temperature of the wire to increase. The resistance change of the wire is measured so as to give an indication of the energy of the laser. The wire is wound with a plurality of turns in one direction so as to make the device non-dependent upon the polarization orientation of the laser.
