Electromagnetic scattering by closed conducting bodies - The problem of internal resonances
Abstract
The Ursell-Jones solution to the electric field integral equation is examined with emphasis on the numerical aspects of implementing this approch in the internal-resonance problem. It is shown that the Ursell-Jones solution can be easily implemented in existing numerical programs for calculating radar cross sections. However, its success in removing the artificial resonant behavior of cross sections in the neighborhood of internal resonances depends on the availability of information concerning the nature of internal resonances.
