The parametric description of the subreflector surface for general double reflector antennas
Abstract
A procedure for designing the subreflector surface of general double reflector antennas is presented and illustrated for a single cross-section of a cylindrical antenna, with focusing in the transverse plane being a function of the phased array illumination. The procedure is then generalized to successive cross-sections of a spherical antenna. The method includes the calculation of the ratio of the respective amplitude distributions in the receiving array and the main antenna aperture.
