Planar near-field analysis and transformation for frequency re-use contoured-beam reflector antennas
Abstract
The near-field testing of large communications satellite antenna systems is evaluated. The geometrical theory of diffraction is utilized for near-field estimations. An example which describes the calculation of near fields and far fields in a plane in front of a circularly polarized contoured-beam reflector antenna system is provided. The diagrams of the copolar and cross-polar near fields and far fields are analyzed.
