Multi-octave bandwidth microstrip antenna arrays
Abstract
Some design aspects of multioctave log periodic microstrip arrays using overlaid patches are examined with reference to important performance criteria. These include maximum achievable bandwidth, minimum achievable array length per unit bandwidth, and radiation pattern control. The discussion is illustrated by recent results for an array having a 4:1 bandwidth, and a way to further enhance the performance of the array is suggested.
