Waveguide element design for a phased array
Abstract
The required performance of a single radiating element in an infinite array has been determined by representing the element as a partially filled dielectric loaded waveguide of the same internal cross-section. The element can be empirically designed to give results similar to the theoretically predicted performance. The linearly polarized element is shown to provide satisfactory performance over a 20 percent bandwidth.
