The wall-reattaching flow over two-dimensional obstacles
Abstract
The paper presents experimental results of the mean and turbulent velocity fields as obtained using a one component LDA for the flow over two-dimensional obstacles mounted in a closed channel. Results are presented for channel Reynolds numbers in the range of 50-1500 and for channel constrictions due to the obstacle of 25, 50 and 75 percent, respectively. The number, the size and the position of the recirculation zones are presented for a fence and an obstacle of block ratios in the range 0.133-8.
