Simultaneous optical measurement of velocity and size of individual particles in flows
Abstract
Applications of L.D.A. to measuring the disperse phase velocity in two phase flows is discussed. Then optical sizing techniques for supermicron particles are briefly reviewed and emphasis is put on the development of a combined optical system using a top-hat corrected laser beam to simultaneously measure the diameter and velocity of individual particles embedded in flows. Some results have been given.
