Two component LDV measurements in a duct with a single backward facing step expansion
Abstract
Two component measurements were performed in a duct with a single backward facing step expansion using a polarized separation type LDV system. The results from the data reductions showed the distributions of mean velocity vector, turbulent intensity both in axial and vertical directions and Reynolds stress in the recirculating region downstream of the step. The location of the zero velocity center and the length of the recirculating region were also measured. Some comparisons were obtained between the experimental and computed results.
