On effects of three-dimensional roughness on transition and receptivity to disturbances
Abstract
Results of previous work by Corke, Bar Sever, and Morkovin investigating transition enhancement by distributed roughness are used to bring out the key features of transition over mild distributed roughness. Evidence is presented which strongly points to an increased receptivity to stochastic free-stream disturbances of these roughed boundary layer flows.
