Theory of free-electron lasers using intense relativistic electron beams
Abstract
The equilibrium matching of a relativistic electron beam with a wiggler is investigated. Consideration is also given to the gain in a matched free-electron laser, and to the relaxation of a relativistic electron beam in a helical wiggler to a matched state.
