Phase transitions and physical properties of sodium-lithium-cadmium niobate systems with components of different structural types
Abstract
Ferroelectric solid solutions are investigated for the ternary system NaNbO3-LiNbO3-CdNb2O6, in which all three components have different structural types. The phase transitions are analyzed as functions of the component concentrations and temperature, and three morphotropic transitions are found which overlap to form a region in which all three phases are in equilibrium. Two types of solid solutions with different combinations of electrophysical properties were found; one type of solid solution is well-suited for the design of microwave devices, while the other type shows promise in the design of low and middle frequency electromechanical transducers for exciting metal resonators with a high sound velocity.
