Stability of jets in a turbulent inhomogeneous rotating fluid
Abstract
A condition for the onset of hydroturbulent instability is determined for a thermally nonuniform jet of rotating liquid. The period of the hydroturbulent oscillations at the cutoff point is estimated. The application of the considered theory to laboratory experiments on the stability of a rotating fluid is briefly discussed.
