A dye laser tunable over the wavelength region 217-3100 nm
Abstract
A high power (up to 120 kW) source of narrow-band (0.03-0.05 nm) coherent radiation tunable over a wide spectral range (217-3100 nm) has been developed on the basis of a dye laser with an amplifier and a linear frequency converter in the UV and IR regions. Tunable emission in the UV range (217-350 nm) is obtained through laser frequency doubling in potassium pentaborate elements; stimulated Raman scattering in cesium vapors is used to extend the tuning range to the IR region.
