Reasons for increasing spectral line intensity in a laser-electrodischarge light source
Abstract
Physical mechanisms leading to increases in spectral line intensity due to the combined action of an electric discharge and a laser are briefly summarized. Emphasis is given to the evaporation of laser products and increases in the power density of the electric discharge. A list of the major erosion products is given, and the frequency at which erosions occur is shown.
