A method for determining active medium parameters in flow-type electric-discharge CO2-lasers according to absorption and emission in centers of 00(0)1-00(0)0 and 10(0)1-00(0)0 bands of the CO2 molecules
Abstract
Further development of a method for determination of the main parameters of active media from Planck's functions of the band centers of 00(0)1-00(0)0 and 10(0)1-00(0)0 vibrational-translational transitions is undertaken. The parameters, which are necessary for evaluation of pumping system efficiency, include the vibrational energy stored, vibrational mode temperatures, CO2 content, peak oscillation power, and resonator efficiency. The accuracies of the parameters obtained by the method described are given; a note is made of the high accuracy of determining the vibrational energy and of the low sensitivity of the procedure for determining the vibrational temperatures to experimental errors.
