Bremsstrahlung from relativistic particles with allowance for dynamic polarizability of the target atom
Abstract
The bremsstrahlung produced in collisions between a charged relativistic particle and a complex atom is examined. The target atom in the problem is considered to be a dynamic system with intrinsic degrees of freedom. In the range of photon frequencies of the order of the atomic ionization potential, the main characteristics of the bremsstrahlung are described analytically with respect to the spectrum of emitted photons, the angular distribution of the radiation and the scattered particles, and the polarization of the radiation. It is shown that the differential cross section for the bremsstrahlung increases logarithmically with the energy of the incident particle.
