Features characterizing the coherent amplification of radiation in the pumping direction during resonance stimulated Raman scattering
Abstract
Analytical and numerical studies are made of the stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) of ultrashort light pulses during coherent interaction in a resonant three-level medium. It is shown that, in a wide range of parameters of the resonant medium, nonlinear capture of the Stokes wave occurs in the pulse-interaction region, leading to a high efficiency of coherent SRS. The inverse-scattering method is used to obtain soliton solutions describing 100-percent conversion of energy into the Stokes wave.
