Using the Coanda effect for reducing the action of a jet on an obstacle
Abstract
The possibility of using the Coanda effect for reducing the action of a jet on an obstacle is investigated for various positions of the nozzle on a cylinder. The jet rotation angle, the lifting force, and pressure distribution on the obstacle are determined for various values of the pressure in the nozzle forechamber. It is shown that by using the Coanda effect it is possible to reduce pressure on the obstacle with smaller losses of the lifting force.
