A method for the experimental study of the spatial-temporal structure of pressure, velocity, and temperature fluctuations in gas flows at the discrete tone frequency
Abstract
A method for the experimental determination of the spatial-temporal structure of pressure, velocity, and temperature fluctuations in gas flows is proposed which can be used in the case where the spectrum of the fluctuations of the gasdynamic characteristics of the flow has a discrete tone with an amplitude and phase distribution stabilized in space and time. The method is discussed in relation to sinusoidal oscillations and verified experimentally for a supersonic underexpanded jet of cold air characterized by a well defined discrete tone associated with its structure.
