Thermogravimetric mass spectrometric device for investigating the destruction of composite polymer materials in rapid heating
Abstract
A thermogravimetric mass-spectrometric device is described which makes it possible to simulate high-temperature rapid processes of thermal degradation and to obtain data on the kinetics of the change of weight and the liberation of individual volatile products of the thermolysis of polymer materials in rapid heating. The device, which consists of a thermoanalyzer and a time-of-flight mass spectrometer, can be used to determine the thermal properties of a material and the kinetic parameters of the degradation process in the range of heating rates 0.16-80 C/sec at temperatures up to 900 C.
