Application of multipole sources in the method of nonorthogonal series in diffraction problems
Abstract
A method is proposed which can be used to investigate mathematical models of diffraction by bodies of revolution under arbitrary electromagnetic excitation. The approach is based on a nonorthogonal-series scheme with representation of the secondary field through sources located on the axis of rotation of the body. Software for the study of ideally conducting bodies has been developed, and numerical results are presented for the example of the diffraction of a linearly polarized plane wave by a finite cylinder with a spherical base.
